What is apostille, and which of our documents need it?
An apostille is a certification that the issuing nation has recognized the originality of a public document meant for use in another country (under the Hague Convention). Documents that need to be apostilled in the case of India company registration are:
• Foreign directors/shareholders’ passport copy
• Residential proof (bank statement or utility bill)
• Certificate of Incorporation of the parent foreign company
• Board resolution for the investment in India by the parent foreign company
Tip: Documents that are not in English must be translated by a certified translator before they are submitted.
Note: If your country is not part of the Hague Convention, documents must be notarized and then attested by the Indian Embassy in your country instead.
