Yes, filing tax returns in India is mandatory irrespective of profit or loss. Every incorporated Indian company has to file:

  • Income Tax Return – to be filed by October 31st every year (for audit cases)
  • ROC Annual Return in Form No MGT-7 – to be filed within 60 days from the date of holding the Annual General Meeting
  • Financial Statements in Form No. AOC-4 – to be filed within 30 days from the date of holding the Annual General Meeting
  • GST Returns – to be filed on a monthly or quarterly basis even if they are NIL returns
